Professional Accomplishments
Manage and facilitate successful educational programs over the past twelve years, including organizing over 50 short courses, tutorials, and distance learning courses each year. Maintain the integrity and the value of over 140 courses in the education program. Identify industry-leading instructors and negotiate contractual agreements.
Optimize exposure of the educational program to major aerospace corporations and training providers. Created “Education Partner Program” with several universities and corporations to support AIAA’s education mission.
Serve as a principle liaison to the AIAA education volunteer committee (15 person board) and served as staff liaison to other volunteer board committees.
Required to track industry trends, develop and implement product strategy plans with budget constraints and goals.
Responsible for developing and implementing training seminars, workshops, and conferences for the volunteers. Created the annual 3-day “Regional Leadership Conference” event for chapter leaders.
Served as the principal contact to the member-relation volunteer committee (20 person board) and chapters (66 sections and 7 regions, worldwide).
Enhanced the “Educator Associate” (K-12) member program. Created the “Educator Achievement Award” and the “Educator Grant Program”, now in its 14th year.
Accountable for developing marketing concepts, forecasting, allocating budget and resources, selecting media and audience targets, and scheduling roll out plans in the membership, conferences, journals departments as well as general sales.
Successfully transitioned member service department into a customer call center, including all aspects of member servicing, troubleshooting, quality control in data processing, tracking retention campaigns.
Oversee strategies and procedures to optimize efficiency into new departments (section activities, professional development). Provided daily operational review/ quality control to validate program and products.
Budgetary and supervisory experience. Managed staff liaisons with their committee affiliations and coordinating cross promotional/marketing activities with other AIAA projects (i.e., conferences, short courses, journal subscriptions).
Member of several AIAA (internal) subcommittees – office renovation team, personnel hours/benefits team, off-site storage team as well as the contact for any web-conferencing or Sharepoint web creation.
